Dibleys' new Energy Centre

Following on from the installation of our solar panel system last year (which produces 10 per cent of our electricity), we have built a new energy centre with two highly efficient wood chip boilers, each 200 kW, which will heat our two largest greenhouses, and our shop and office.  Burning wood only releases CO2 which the trees had previously removed from the atmosphere, so there is no addition to the total in the air. The new boilers will significantly reduce our dependence on oil heating, and the CO2 this produces.

Dibleys to install wood chip boilers to reduce dependence on oil

Horticulture Week magazine has an article about our 'two 290kW boilers [which] will be used to heat the two biggest glasshouses on the nursery as well as the office.' It also mentions the fact we installed a 10kW solar panel system last year which is producing 10 per cent of our electricity needs. We will post more about this project as it develops!
